Wi-Fi
If you think you’ve found a suitable spot, check the Wi-Fi icon on the home screen of the app, and try streaming Watch Live from your Canary Flex device. If video plays without interruption and the Wi-Fi icon indicates MED or HIGH, you’ve found a good place for your Canary Flex to stay.

Wired or wire-free
If you’re using Canary Flex indoors, we recommend you keep your device plugged in for best performance.
If you want to use Canary Flex outdoors, the device has a rechargeable battery designed to last multiple months with normal usage. Set it up wire-free or plug it in outdoors using a weatherproof, covered outlet if you see a green dot on the bottom of the Flex power adapter.
Canary Flex operates within a temperature range of -4° to 113° F, with deviations up to 122° F. Please note that the battery will drain quickly in low temperatures.

Battery life
To make sure your Canary Flex lasts for as long as possible on a single charge, position your device to eliminate as much background activity as possible while still monitoring the desired area.
If you are using Premium Service, you can also set up masks to tell the Canary Flex to not record certain areas in range of the camera. More information about setting up a mask can be found by clicking here.
You can always check the status of your battery life on the app home screen, where it is displayed in the battery icon. If the battery is low, we recommend that you recharge it while you’re home.
