Two-step Verification or Two-factor Authentication (2FA) is a widely accepted security measure where more than one form of identity verification is required in order for a customer to log in.
As Canary was designed with our customer’s personal security in mind, our optional Two-step Verification provides an additional step that helps customers add a further level of safety.
Canary’s own Two-step Verification means that you have the option to access your Canary account by providing a unique 6-digit security code as well as your email and password. This one-time code is sent through an SMS message.
Please be sure you know your email and password before enabling Two-step Verification. You will need to update your Canary app to the latest version via the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS). If you are unsure which app version you are using, you can find the steps to check which app version you are using here.
To enable Two-step Verification on the Canary app, please follow these steps:
- Open the Canary app
- From the Dashboard tap the gear icon in the top right corner.
- Tap My account.
- Tap Password and Security
- Turn on Two-step Verification
- Follow the on-screen instructions
