How is Canary Flex different from Canary Pro?
Canary Flex was designed for infinite versatility. Use inside or out. Rain or shine. Day or night. Wire-free or wired. Upright or mounted on a wall. Unlike Canary, Canary Flex is a weatherproof camera that has an extended-life rechargeable battery. Canary Flex does not have a built in siren or HomeHealth technology to monitor temperature, air quality and humidity.

Is Canary Flex hard to set up?
Canary Flex is a complete security system within a single device. No additional hubs mean no extra clutter. All you have to do is download the Canary app, plug in your Canary Flex device, connect it to the internet, and the system is up and running. Canary Flex comes completely assembled and no tools or installation is required.
Do I need an original Canary or a Hub to use Canary Flex?
Nope. Canary Flex works completely independent of other Canary devices and no hub is required. If you want to use Canary Flex with other Canary devices, that’s fine too - just add the devices to your account in the Canary app. All devices seamlessly integrate in the Canary app.
Wouldn’t the burglars just cut the wire or take it off the magnet?
Canary Flex comes with a 360° magnetic swivel base that attaches to the physical device. For extra protection, we recommend purchasing the Secure Mount accessory that can attach to any wall or surface, inside or out, making your Canary Flex more secure. The Secure Mount accessory physically secures to your Canary Flex with a screw that fastens into the bottom of your device, so it’s not so easy to make a clean getaway. And remember, Canary Flex works both wire-free and wired.
How long does the battery last?
How long the battery lasts depends on a number of factors. Canary Flex only spends battery life if it’s wire-free and has detected motion using PIR—the more activity it is detecting daily and the longer the Canary Flex is activated, the more battery it will use.
How will I know when Canary Flex needs to charge?
When Canary Flex is running low on battery, it will send you a notification letting you know that it needs to be recharged. You can check the battery level at any time using the Canary app.
Does Canary Flex have two-way audio?
Yes! Two-way Talk is available for all users.
Is Canary Flex weatherproof?
Yes. Canary Flex has an IP65 rating, which means it can function, rain or shine.
If you plan to use Canary Flex outside while connected to power, you can plug your device into a weatherproof, covered outlet if you see a green dot on the bottom of the power adapter.
Does it have onboard storage?
Canary Flex exclusively uses the Canary Cloud to store your videos (video recording is only available on Premium Service). If you would like to back up a video to external storage, you can download it to your phone then transfer it to your desired storage media.
What’s the camera’s field of view?
The camera has a 116° field of view.
At what temperatures can it operate?
Canary Flex will operate normally at -4° - 113° F (-20° - 45° C), with deviations permitted to 122° F (50° C).
Note: Canary Flex is unable to charge its battery in temperatures below 32° F (0° C) or above 104° F (40° C).

What are the minimum requirements for mobile devices?
Canary is currently designed for iOS and Android, with native apps for each. On iOS, Canary supports iOS devices running iOS 13.6 and above. For Android, Canary supports devices running 6.0 and above.
You can also log into my.canary.is from any browser to upgrade or change your Canary Premium Service, use Desktop Streaming, or view HomeHealth information.
How does Canary Flex connect to the internet?
Flex can connect to 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, and it supports both the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies.
Is Canary Flex HomeKit enabled?
Canary Flex is not currently HomeKit enabled.
Secure Mount
What is the Secure Mount for Canary Flex?
The Secure Mount attaches to any wall or surface, inside or out, making your Canary Flex more secure wherever you place it. A ball joint lets you adjust the camera angle so you can always find the right view.
What’s the difference between the Secure Mount and the 360o magnetic swivel base that comes with Canary Flex?
The Magnetic Swivel Base uses a strong magnet to attach the device directly to the base. The Secure Mount screws directly into the device.
How does the Secure Mount secure Canary Flex?
Use the provided hex tool to secure the mounting screw to the bottom of your device.
What size screw does the magnetic swivel and secure mount use?
The 2 screws with the mount are #8 countersunk screws, 1'' in length. The screw with the flex is a #8 pan head screw, also 1'' in length. The hex screw is #8 hex cap screw 1/4'' in length. They are all steel.
How do I install the Secure Mount?
The Secure Mount comes with a mount, baseplate and all the hardware you need for easy installation, but you will need a Phillips screwdriver and a power drill. Detailed instructions are included in the Secure Mount box.

What is the Twist Mount for Canary Flex?
The Twist Mount takes Canary Flex to unexpected places, indoor and out. Fixtures. Railings. Branches. Wherever you can hang it or wrap it, Twist Mount creates smart new vantage points for your Canary Flex.
How do I install the Twist Mount?
Slip Canary Flex into the silicon sleeve and wrap the Twist Mount around a tree branch, bookshelf, or other such surface to secure it, then adjust the neck to find the perfect angle.

What is the Stake Mount for Canary Flex?
