If you want to give away or return your Canary, and you are the owner of the location, you can remove it from your account so another user can set it up.
If a Canary is removed, the location owner will receive a confirmation email.
Note: This is not a troubleshooting step. If you're having issues with your device, please try disconnecting then reconnecting it to power.
Requirements
There are three requirements for removing a Canary from a location:
- Only the location owner can remove a Canary.
- Canary has the firmware version 7.0.0 or later.
- You will need iOS 13.6 or Android app version 6.0 or later.
Follow these steps to locate your device and remove your Canary from your location:
- Open your Canary App.
- From the Dashboard tap the gear icon in the top right corner.
- Tap My devices.
- Tap the name of the Canary you want to remove.
- Tap Remove device.
- Read the confirmation and enter your Canary password.
Single Device at a Location
If you remove the only device associated with its location, location members will not have access to video history from that location.
Multiple Devices at a Location
If you remove a device, but you still have other devices associated with its location, all video from the deactivated device will remain in your video history for this location.
