How does Two-way Talk work?

The Two-way Talk feature allows the user to have live conversations via your camera and your phone.

In order to use Two-way Talk, you will need a Canary Pro, View or Flex device with firmware version 7.0.0 or later and Canary app version 7.8.0 or later (Two-way Talk functionality is not available through the Web app for desktop streaming or Apple TV apps). This feature requires the microphone permission for your Canary app.

To use Two-way Talk, follow these steps:

1. Open the Canary app.
2. Tap Watch Live on a device.
3. Press and hold the microphone button; a white circle will spin.
4. When the circle turns green, speak into the microphone on your smartphone. The Canary device in your home will play a tone to indicate that you are speaking.
5. When you are finished speaking, release the microphone button. The Canary device will play a tone to indicate that you are finished speaking.

Note: Only one location user may speak at a time.
