Canary Pro/View
Canary utilizes 12 precisely positioned IR LEDs that turn on automatically in low-light conditions, to help Canary detect and capture motion. Canary Pro/View should generally be within 20 feet of its target for optimal performance in night vision.
Canary Flex
Canary Flex only has a single IR LED, for maximum efficiency and total discretion. The IR LED is not meant to illuminate large areas. The Ambient Light Sensor (ALS) may prevent Canary Flex from entering night vision if there is too much light in Canary Flex's field of view, from bright street lights or another light source. You can change the angle of the device to minimize the effect of external light sources on your device.
For best results, we recommend placing Canary Flex in a well illuminated area outdoors. If additional light is required, you may wish to install a flood light or a remote IR illuminator to increase the field of view for your Flex camera at night.
