Canary Membership extends your security with 30 days of full-length Video History, Two-way Canary Talk, and Desktop Streaming. Members located in the US also benefit from Incident Support services and a two-year Extended Device Warranty.
Is Premium Service (Membership) available in countries other than the US?
Yes. Canary Membership is available to users who live outside the US and includes 30 days of full-length Video History, Two-way Canary Talk, and Desktop Streaming. Incident support and extended warranty benefits are only available in the US.
How much does Premium Service (Membership) cost?
Canary customers will receive the full privileges of Membership for $9.99/month or $99/year (two free months). Additional devices (above 5) will be $4.99 per device or $49/year.
Do I need to purchase a Canary Premium Service (Membership) subscription for my device to function?
No, we’re still offering everyday security right out of the box with a 24-hour timeline for up to four devices.
How do I purchase Canary Premium Service (Membership)?
To activate Premium Service (Membership), you must first receive your Canary devices, download the Canary app, and complete the device setup process. Once all devices are online, follow these steps to activate Canary Membership:
- Open the Canary app
- Navigate to Menu > Location details
- Tap Activate Premium Service (Membership)
- Enter your credit card information
- Tap Upgrade to complete checkout.
If I have more than one device at a location that is on the free plan, do I still get 24 hours of video history?
Yes, but the free plan only supports up to four devices. If you wish to add more than four devices to your home, upgrade to Canary Premium Service (Membership).
Upon purchasing Canary Premium Service (Membership), does my video from within the last 30 days show up on my Timeline?
No. Video from more than 24 hours ago will not be unlocked or saved to your Timeline for 30 days. Only videos which are recorded after upgrading to Premium Service (Membership) will retain on your Timeline for 30 days. If you have any videos prior to upgrading that you would like to save, it will be necessary to bookmark these videos.

In the event of a qualifying incident, we’ll provide you with a dedicated agent to help retrieve video evidence and assist through a home theft event.
How does Extended Device Warranty work?
All Canary devices come with a one-year limited warranty. As part of Canary Premium Service (Membership), all devices at the location under Premium Service (Membership) will receive a two-year limited warranty from the original date of purchase. To qualify, devices need to be purchased directly from Canary or an authorized reseller. For more information, visit canary.is/legal.
What if I have multiple devices?
Premium Service (Membership) applies to each device at a specific location, but the price will vary according to the number of devices you have at that location.

Is there a limit to how many Canary devices I can have in a single location?
If you are enrolled in Canary Premium Service (Membership), there is no limit to the amount of devices you can have in a single location. If you are enrolled in the included free plan, the 24-hour video history is shared by up to 4 devices.
