Installation instructions
IMPORTANT: Before installing your Secure Mount, complete setup of your Canary Flex™ device with the Canary® app, available from canary.is/app on your iOS or Android device.
Step 1: Pick a place with a strong Wi-Fi signal.
If you can stream Watch Live from your Canary Flex device from here without interruption, you’re ready to install your Secure Mount.
Step 2: Get the best view.
Temporarily hold your device in the desired position and use the Watch Live feature in the Canary® app to confirm you have the best shot.
Position your device to eliminate as much background activity as possible, such as passing cars.
Step 3: Unscrew the baseplate from the Secure Mount.
Using the provided hex tool, unscrew the securing screw on the bottom of the base and remove the baseplate.
Step 4: Install the baseplate.
Hold the baseplate against the installation surface and use a pencil to make two marks through the two holes in the back of the baseplate.
On the pencil marks, drill two pilot holes into the installation surface.
Note: If wall anchors are required for your installation (drywall, brick, concrete), use a 13/64” drill bit to drill pilot holes in the installation surface. If wall anchors are not required for your installation (wood), use a 1/8” drill bit to drill pilot holes in the installation surface.
Align the baseplate holes with the pilot holes in the installation surface and install the provided wall anchors (optional) and Phillips screws.
If you want to adjust the Secure Mount’s level after fastening the baseplate to the installation surface, loosen the right screw and rotate the baseplate accordingly before tightening.
Step 5: Hook the Secure Mount onto the baseplate.
Align the top of the Secure Mount base with the two hooks at the top of the baseplate, then snap the bottom into place.
Step 6: Secure the base to the baseplate.
Using the provided hex tool, tighten the securing screw on the bottom of the base.
Step 7: Install your Canary Flex device.
Insert your Canary Flex device into the Secure Mount and adjust it to the preferred angle. Make sure the LED ring is not covered by the cup before securing.
Note: Do not twist your Canary Flex device itself to secure it.
Use the provided hex tool to secure the mounting screw to the bottom of your device.
Step 8: Adjust the angle.
Adjust the angle of your Canary Flex device by pressing the button on the top of the Secure Mount and rotating the device until it’s in the desired position.
Step 9: Connect to power. (optional)
If you plan to keep your Canary Flex device plugged in, connect the power cable to the back of your device and route the cable around the secure mount in the direction of your power outlet.
Note: Make sure you use a covered weatherproof outlet if you plan to keep your Canary Flex plugged in outdoors.
