Video events can be shared with others. Your video needs to be processed on our servers before it can be shared, so that the file is a manageable size. A video only needs to be processed once, but you can share a single video multiple times.
Prepare the Video Event
To prepare a video event for sharing from your Timeline:
- Tap the video you’d like to share.
- Tap the share icon.
It may take a few minutes for your video to process, depending on its length.
Share the Video Event
You’ll receive a notification when the video is ready to be shared.
If you’ve closed the Canary app, you’ll receive a push notification to your phone.
If the Canary app is open, you’ll see a message in the app.
When notified in the Canary app, tap Go to Activity to return to the requested video.
Tap the share icon again, and you will be prompted with a number of ways to share your video.
Longer video files can be too big to attach to an email. If you need to share a large video with law enforcement or your insurance company, you can upload it to a cloud storage service like Google Drive or iCloud, and then share a link.
Note: There is no limit to the number of videos you can share.
