If your Canary is having trouble communicating with our servers, your network may have an active firewall.
Every router and ISP is different, so you may need to refer to the manufacturer’s manual, support site, or contact them directly for instructions on changing your settings.
Modify Security Settings
Some firewalls have low, medium and high security settings. When set to high or medium, the connection to Canary servers will usually be blocked.
Canary communicates with our servers through specific ports on your network, so you'll want to make sure the following ports are unblocked on your router:
- TCP port 443
- UDP port 123
Note: If you need assistance with port forwarding you can contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
