Who is affected by these changes?
These changes will affect all Canary users currently on the free plan. Canary users on Premium Service (Membership) will be unaffected.
What are the benefits to upgrading to Canary Premium Service (Membership)?
If you’d like to get all the features and functionality Canary has to offer, then you may want to consider upgrading your account to Canary Premium Service (Membership). While the Free Service offers real-time core security features such as 24/7 Watch Live, Video Previews stored on a 24-hour timeline, and smart notifications. Canary Membership unlocks access to a 30-day timeline, customizable modes, unlimited downloads and shares of created video, Two-Way Canary Talk, and Web app access for desktop streaming.

Do these changes impact Canary or Canary Flex?
These changes will affect all Canary users on the free service plan, regardless of which Canary device or devices you own.
When will Night mode be back?
In early December, we’ll release an update to the Canary app that will re-enable access to Night mode scheduling.
When will my video clips be 30 seconds instead of 10?
As of November 2nd, all Canary free users' video clips are 30 seconds long (if the motion detected lasts 30 seconds or longer).
Do I need to update my Canary app or Canary’s firmware for these changes to take affect?
The only change that will require a software update is the re-introduction of Night mode to free users. This update will be delivered in an app release in early December. The other improvements to our free plan will happen automatically on our end, and will not require any action to be taken on your part.
